multipop malfunction or feature?

why when multipop enabled the emails that its collects become read in source webmail? mean when new email arrives to my original email server (Gmail) i use Multipop to collects but when i checked Gmail all the collected emails marked as read. I want them to stay as unread as should they do
whats wrong?
is this some sort of features? how i can disable this?

POP3 has no concept of read/unread or folders or anything similar.

This is simply what Gmail does. There are a few knobs in Gmail's
Settings that might have an impact.

    A multi-IMAP feature is on our wishlist to be  considered for future versions.
