If you go to Security / AntiVirus, and disable the option for "refuse to accept messages that are infected with a virus" MDaemon should accept the message and then scan it in the local queue.  When a virus is detected it will be handled according to the radio button selected just below the check box.  If an error occurs during scanning, the message should be placed into the holding queue.

If there is an error the message should be moved to the holding queue.  Can you send me a copy of the MSG file along with the AntiVirus log that shows the message being scanned?

Yes, a CTAVLog.Log file is being created in the MDaemon\app directory. But all records on it very old. Last one:

Mon, 14 Oct 2019 08:33:11 +0500: ScanFile() timed out for C:\MDaemon\CFilter\WORK\258235980\pd992122048.txt

No new entries are added.

After put RESTARTCF.SEM file in the MDaemon\app directory MDaemon System log does show the SEM file being recognized:

Thu 2021-04-22 10:15:15.642: ----------
Thu 2021-04-22 10:58:01.146: RESTARTCF.SEM semaphore file found and processed
Thu 2021-04-22 10:58:01.146: ----------

and task Manager does show the CFEngine.exe process stopping and then being restarted successfully.

But Content Filter restart does not help to force CyrenAV work again.

If you turn off the option for refuse to accept messages that are infected with a virus, is the message accepted by MDaemon and delivered?

What does the AntiVirus log show is occurring when the message is scanned by the AV engine?

Can you enable the holding queue for testing?
