Hi,

Can we set a DKIM selector for a domain that we do not host via MDaemon? A webform is used that sends e-mail from domain "x" (via relay) through MDaemon.

Is this possible and if yes...can you guide me in to the correct setting?

Thx

Ramon

This is technically possible to sign a message from a non-MDaemon domain using DKIM, however, it requires lowering/removing MDaemon security settings and I wouldn't recommend doing so. Authentication is required to sign messages using DKIM. If the webform application is not able to authenticate with MDaemon using a valid MDaemon account, then the answer to your question is no.

If SMTP authentication is possible, the Relay Control options will need to be disabled/modified to allow relayed mail, SMTP authentication settings will need to be changed to allow the FROM and return-path address to be different then the authenticated address, and DKIM signing will need to be configured to allow the non-local address to sign. Details on these features can be found in the links below.
