I need a CF rule to send a note *only* to the the very first recipient
in the TO HEADER.

I mean that if in the TO HEADER there are multiple recipients, the
note must be sent only to the first one.

Is that possible?

You could update your script to save a copy of the Message-ID and if its processed a message with the same message-id as the message currently being processed, then skip it.

No. Every times they can be completely different ones.

So, in the end, I cannot check the X-MDaemon-Deliver-To header: each
time the email can contain multiple recipients, and they are different
every time,  so, if I understand correctly, with multiple recipients,
it is not possible to trigger a cf rule only once.

The only way I can prevent multiple triggering, is to mandatory use
one and only one recipient for mails that must be processed only once
by this rule.

Somewhat limiting.

I will continue to think on how to solve this puzzle.

Yes Arron, this is pure telepathy, since a couple of minutes ago I had
the very same idea.

I am thinking to save a copy of the Message-ID as a file in the
filesystem so it is extremely cheap to check the existence of it for
subsequent messages with the same Message-ID.

However it is *crucial* that MDaemon process the recipients of a given
message in the very same order as they are enumerated in the To
header: only if this processing order is respected I can safely assume
that the first recipient is effectively the first one in the To
header.

Thank you for your kind support, I really appreciate it.

> However it is *crucial* that MDaemon process the recipients of a given message in the very same order as they are enumerated in the To header: only if this processing order is respected I can safely assume that the first recipient is effectively the first one in the To header.

It <seems to me> that MDaemn, before sending a message with multiple
recipients does an ascending alpha sort of the email addresses
contained in the To field *thus* the order they are listed in the To
field is not respected, *thus* I cannot rely on the position of the
very first recipient.

Have your script parse the To header to find the first email address, if the email address parsed from the To header matches the address in the X-MDaemon-Deliver-To header, then proceed with processing.  If it does not, then ignore the message.

It <seems to me> that MDaemn, before sending a message with multiple
recipients does an ascending alpha sort of the email addresses
contained in the To field *thus* the order they are listed in the To
field is not respected, *thus* I cannot rely on the position of the
very first recipient.
