Otto,
If you review the documentation, you will find that the MailDir field is only valid as a response element in a GetUserInfo operation. Further, it is only display if the logged on user is a Global Administrator.
In addition to being able to be used by Global Admins that we could potentially assume also have Server Console access, the CreateUser operation is designed to be used by Domain Admins, who, in the vast majority of case, do not know and should not know the underlying file system on the server. That would be a severe security breach.
The CreateUser operation will look at the location specified in the “New Accounts” new account template. If that is empty, it will default to {MDaemonIni::[Directories]::DataFolder}\{DomainName}\Users\{Mailbox} directory.
The recommendation is to Specify the location by editing your New Account Template for new users.
In a future version, it may support using alternate account template keys.
