RS,
That is currently by design. The Mailbox Path is only reported to those with Global Admin permissions, as doing so to domain admins would be a security violation, exposing the structure of the underlying file system.
I will add a request for this functionality to the XML API wish list, while maintaining security requirements. I estimate that I can likely get it implemented no later than MD v22.5. While it MIGHT be possible for MD 21.5, it is unlikely, as my workload for 21.5 is quite heavy at this time. Likely target version is MD 22.0.
Most likely, the implementation would be based on the domain of the account being created, however, there are some other options I am considering. Prior to enabling the use of the New Account Template, there was a way to direct individual domains to specific locations. That was superseded by the use of the New Account Template. I believe I can implement something that will satisfy the best of both worlds.
Moving a mailbox from one location to another (an update) would be something else entirely, as that is a time consuming process depending upon the size of the mailbox. Not saying that it won’t be included, but its inclusion would depend upon numerous factors, as doing so would require disabling the mailbox, moving all of the content and re-enabling the mailbox. Which could, if the disk subsystem was either slow or already being worked hard, would take a substantial amount of time. Most likely, it would have to be submitted to a background thread and provide a means of checking on the status of the move operation.
