Subject: [md-support] Authenticated session email rejected with an authentication required message

MDeamon's SMTP Authentication security settings are looking at the from header in the message and verifying it's not the same as the account that authenticated. If this feature was to be turned off, then users would be able to send mail identifying themselves as other users. A white list exists in the settings below if you want an account to bypass this feature...

Authenticated session email rejected with an authentication required message - 04:39pm Aug 30, 2019 CDT -

One of my users was attempting to forward a meeting request to another employee when she was met with a bounce message that showed a 530 5.7.0 Authentication Required message.  When checking the server log I found this:

Clearly the session was an authenticated session. The meeting request was being forwarded in the latest version of Outlook 365 using MDaemon Connector.  She doesn’t see this happening when forwarding any other type of message, only meeting requests.

Any idea why this would happen, and what options might be available with the current 19.0.3 release to work around this?

Thanks,

Mike
